Creation Justice

We believe that our call to love our neighbors extends not only to all people, but also to all the beings of creation. We care for our sibling species and the land, water, and air that support us all, not only as responsible stewards, but also in respecting their intrinsic worth. In recognition of these values, we've been designated a  Creation Justice Church by the UCC, building on over a decade as an Earthwise congregation as designated by the Minnesota Conference. Our Creation Justice Covenant reflects our congregational commitment to working within our congregation and in broader communities to transform harm into healing.

Some of our major Earthwise-Creation Justice activities over the past decade include installing an array of solar panels on our roof; making improvements to our roof for water management and energy efficiency; installing rain gardens on our grounds; developing a food ethics statement and making more local and fair trade choices in the food served at events; and organizing many educational, faith formation, and worship activities, including a series of book studies around Active Hope that has infused new energy into our Earthwise-Creation Justice pursuits throughout the congregation.
