Faith Formation Thursday
“Covenantal Restoration” A 12 Session Film Series on Faith & Justice
Racism and oppression have a long and painful past and present. Racism is an open, aching human wound that reflects a fracture in our relationship with God. Understanding how it was promoted and is still alive in the construct of our beliefs, systems and structures is the beginning of caring for this wound.
In this series on faith and race, we will explore how God is calling us to renewal and the hope of healing, so that we might continue to live into God’s dream for the world — a world without racism. The curriculum, written by Kelly Ann Hall, includes 12 sessions with an accompanying discussion guide.

New Member Class
"Why is it necessary to become a member?" Some of you may ask this question. Becoming a member of a church is not necessarily about you! When we say yes to a community of faith like SPUCC, we are making our commitment to this community visible. It can be really promising to see folks stand up before the congregation and join the community. It is a measure of growth, and a way that we show we are in this together! If you are interested in joining, you are invited to sign up to attend our New Members class.

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday will include traditional brass instruments, joyous music, fragrant flowers, and the new life Christ offers in the resurrection. This is a meaningful day for Christians, and our worship will be festive and moving.
Easter Sunday Potluck Breakfast
You are invited to bring your favorite breakfast item to share with at least 20 people as we celebrate Easter. Please make sure to let us know what you'll be bringing by Friday, March 22nd. All are welcome!
Easter Egg Hunt
The annual SPUCC community Easter Egg hunt is afoot! Bring yourselves, your friends, other young family members! All are invited to participate. There will be snacks, a craft to create, and so many eggs! Please bring a basket with you.
Good Friday
Good Friday worship will take us through the final words of Jesus with a dramatic service. The tone of worship will lead us to the betrayal, arrest, and death of Jesus with darkness, drumming, and stunning movement and music. It is a deeply emotional and participatory service.
Maundy Thursday Supper
Maundy Thursday is the night of Holy Week that we remember the last supper Jesus spent with the disciples, before he was betrayed and arrested. Our Maundy Thursday Supper will be served with delicious Palestinian food (including other child-friendly options) at tables set with traditional items. This is a sensory experience! We'll do some simple hand-washing with oil (instead of foot-washing), singing, and readings. This dinner is meant to be a child-friendly option to learn more about Holy Week.
