“JustArts: One Stitch At A Time”

Mimi Goodwin is a friend of SPUCC since 2000. Art-making is central to her work in child care centers, schools, community theaters, justice organizations, recovery programs and churches. Her quilts were recently in exhibitions at MIA, Textile Center and Saint Paul Benedictine Center. Her “We Rise Up Over And Around All Fences” quilt is in the travelling show We Are The Story: A Visual Response to Racism and appears in the book by same title. During the April 27 session, Mimi will share some of her justice weaving and quilt pieces. During the May 4 session, she will share her creating process and invite participants to begin creating an SPUCC justice quilt.
