2025 Mid-Year Finance Report to Congregation

July 17, 2025

Overall St. Paul’s UCC is performing close to budget expectations for 2025 as we close the 2nd quarter of the year on June 30th.

Member Income is $198,366, which is $1,362 better than budget, and $9,000 over last year’s Member Income. Total Income, which includes Member Income, Facility Income and Investment Income, is 380,093 which is 2,419 under budgeted income, mainly due to Facility Income being 5,531 under budget.

Expenses stand at 383,158, which is 20,813 under budget but this may be largely due to timing since the quarterly property insurance will be paid in Q3 instead of the end of Q2 which was budgeted. Last year’s expenses at this point of the year were 362,077.

Most expense items are on track or slightly under budget, with the exception of Facility Maintenance and Accounting Fees. For Facility Maintenance one of the bills for 18,000 from 2024 was received and paid in 2025, which is causing the 2025 expense to be higher than budget. For accounting services we use an outside firm to perform some of the accounting tasks and we are currently higher than budget by 6,000 for the year. This is partly due to the transition we have had in our finance/administration role but we are monitoring this item to see how to bring it closer to expected budget.

Overall, we are showing a 3,065 deficit which is better than the 21,460 deficit which is the budget for this point in the year, so we are out-performing the budget.

We do have a few uncertainties going forward which are:

  1. Building and Grounds is working on proposals to complete brick work on the fireside room exterior wall, which needs to be completed to avoid further damage

  2. A Parking Lot Task Force is working on alternatives to the current parking lot arrangement which currently provides over 5,000 in monthly revenue but is terminating the end of August this year.

Our finances are tracking close to expectations and we appreciate your commitment to and support of the ministries of St. Paul’s UCC.

Sincerely,
Kent Horsager, Treasurer
