Honoring Monica Joy

from member Sheryl Anderson

On September 14, Monica Joy Holley would have celebrated her 16th birthday. Those who knew Monica know she would have wanted a BIG celebration.

On the second anniversary of her death from gun violence, we want to celebrate Monica’s life and the beautiful memories she left us with by giving back in her honor.

This year, because Monica’s life was tragically taken by gun violence, and in light of the continued violence across Minnesota and the country, we are inviting you to make a donation in her memory to a local organization working to end gun violence in our communities:

👉 Guns Down, Love Up (GDLU)

Remembering Monica Joy Karen Lynn Holley in the spirit of her Highland School classmates | October 4, 2023

GDLU is dedicated to ending gun violence through community engagement, education, and empowerment. They work to foster resilience and build strong support networks for individuals and families impacted by community and gun violence, with a particular focus on African American and Native communities. Through healing, advocacy, and collective action, they help create spaces where love, justice, and peace thrive.
