Remembering Monica Joy

An invitation from member Sheryl Anderson, God-Mother of Monica Joy

On September 14 of this year Monica Joy Holley would have celebrated her 17th birthday and would be in her third year of high school. October 4 is the third anniversary of her death by gun violence.

We miss her. Her smile, her sassiness. and yes even her attitude as she was struggling to find her identity.

This year we again invite you to honor Monica’s life and the memories she left us with with a donation in her name to Girls on the Run Minnesota.

Monica participated in Girls on the Run when she was at Adams Spanish Immersion School. Her little sister, Andrica has been an active participant of this program and the volunteers have been a strong support for Andrica as she misses her sister, Monica. Girls on the Run provides fun, evidence based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others.

Go to the Girls on the Run Minnesota website at https://www.gotrmn.org and click on the donate tab.

After putting In your amount you can select “Dedicate my donation in the honor or in memory of someone” Put in “Monica Joy” for the name.
