It’s School Tools Collection Time!

SOCIAL JUSTICE & PARTNERSHIPS

Donations accepted at church thru Sunday, August 16th

We seek to follow in the way of Christ by promoting opportunities for outreach, advocacy, and education that help create a more just and inclusive world where every person can live with dignity and thrive.

One way we put our faith into action is by supporting Interfaith Action’s annual School Tools Drive. This community-wide effort brings together faith communities, businesses, and individuals to provide new backpacks and school supplies for children from families with low incomes throughout Greater Saint Paul. Each year, more than $24,000 in school supplies is collected to fill hundreds of backpacks for students served through nine local programs.

St. Paul’s UCC is honored to serve as the host collection site once again this year. In addition to collecting donations from our own congregation, we will receive school supplies gathered by other participating faith communities before they are distributed to children across our community.

Donations will be accepted at church through Sunday, August 16. We invite you to help a child begin the school year with confidence by donating new backpacks and school essentials.

Your gifts will benefit children and families served by:

  • American Indian Magnet School

  • CornerHouse Children’s Advocacy Center

  • Department of Indian Work

  • Emma Norton Services

  • Career Pathways

  • Project Home

  • Project REACH

  • and other community partners.

Every backpack, notebook, box of crayons, or package of pencils is more than a school supply - it is a tangible reminder to a child that their community believes in them and wants them to thrive.

Thank you for helping St. Paul’s UCC live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors through this meaningful act of generosity.

“Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” — 1 John 3:18 (NRSV)

If you prefer to make a monetary donation, you may give online www.spucconsummit.org, making sure you select the “School Tools” fund from the dropdown menu, or write a check payable to St. Paul’s UCC and note “School Tools” in the memo line.
