Journey of Faith | Resonances Between Indigenous and Christian Value

Land Acknowledgement and Justice for Native Americans - A Lenten Series

April 6: Resonances Between Indigenous and Christian Value

Worship | 5:30-6:00 pm (In Person and Zoom)
Dinner | 6:00-6:30 pm
Presentation | 6:30-7:20 pm (In Person and Zoom)

We will explore the rich conversation that is possible between Native American worldviews and lifeways and the spirituality and teachings of followers of Jesus. We will be joined this evening by Kelly Sherman-Conroy, a Native American theologian completing her Ph.D. at Luther Seminary (Kelly shared some of her story with us last fall) – and by Rev. Joann Conroy (Kelly’s mother!), a chaplain for the Good Samaritan Society/Sanford Health in Maplewood, MN and president of the ELCA American Indian and Alaska Native Lutheran Association. Together this mother-daughter duo will reflect on how Native thought, philosophy and spirituality engage with Christian faith in their lives and in their work.
