Meeting “The Challenge of Jesus” DVD discussion with John Dominic Crossan

Each week Crossan, a world-renowned scholar in the Historical Jesus, New Testament, and Early Christianity, makes a short video presentation on some facet of the world around Jesus that deepens our understanding of who Jesus was and the profound challenge he posed in his day … and still in ours.

This spring we’ll watch the final eight 15-minute presentations—one each week—and then engage in vibrant conversation with one another. Four sessions focus on understanding Jesus’ death; the final four turn to the resurrection. These are “deep dives” in history, culture, and theology. The small group that gathered weekly in the fall found the first eight sessions challenging and insightful, but the real prize was the depth of our shared conversation.
