Loving Our Pollinators

EARTHWISE CREATION JUSTICE

While we welcome the first signs of Spring, it’s important to note that our pollinators are still wintering in the compost on our flower beds at church and at home. The churches gardeners won’t be cleaning up the garden beds until the pollinators are up from their winter slumber and back at their important tasks in our ecosystem. This usually occurs sometime early to mid-May.  We encourage you to try to follow this same practice at home.  If you do need to disturb or move the composting material in your yard, place it on the ground in another location. Once the pollinators are up, we will be scheduling a clean-up day for the church yard and hope to see you then.  Happy Spring!
