We hope you’ll join us for Lent & Holy Week

“For Christ’s Sake”

Let’s be honest, we often take God’s name and life in vain. But in difficult times, we need God and one another to hope.

This Lenten Season we’ll journey with Jesus as he healed, prayed, and hoped, even on the way to the cross. With spiritual fortitude, and mutual forbearance, we too can pray, heal, and hope ourselves toward new life and Easter Resurrection.

Lent @ St. Paul’s

Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, February 18, 2026
5:45 pm Light Dinner | 6:30 pm Worship

Ash Wednesday begins our journey into Lent. This service will be intergenerational and contemplative. The imposition of ashes, prayers, readings and movements will help us be on the way with Jesus, especially in difficult times.

Lenten Wednesdays
Grounded, Gathered, Growing

February 25, March 4, 11, 18, 25

Wednesdays in Lent will begin with our Lenten Wednesday Worship in the Sanctuary, then we’ll break bread together over dinner, and finally move into Journey of Faith for an uplifting and informative series that meets this moment in our shared life. We’ll hear from seminary professors, learn resistance songs, make art together, and learn how to discuss difficult topics… all For Christ’s Sake.

  • Lenten Wednesday Worship | 5:15 - 5:45 pm | Sanctuary

Wednesday evenings will make intergenerational space for restorative communal song, prophetic scripture readings, art meditation, and candlelighting.

  • Community Dinner | 5:45 - 6:15 pm | Narthex
Join us for a nourishing, light Lenten meal. Would you like to provide a meal? Sign up here!

  • Lenten Journey of Faith | 6:30 - 7:30 pm | Fireside Room

    • FEBRUARY 25 Old Fashioned Hymn Sing Judith and Parker will lead us in singing comforting old hymns, and teach us some songs of resistance to meet us in this moment.

    • MARCH 4 Polycrisis and Feral Hope Hear from Luther Seminary professor Rev. Dr. J. Cody Sanders about the crises facing us in modernity and how our faith can transform them for the future.

    • MARCH 11 Trans Biblical: New Approaches to Interpretation and Embodiment in Scripture Dr. Justin Sabia-Tanis, Professor from United Seminary, will discuss his latest book, and the importance of embodiment as we journey with Jesus in Lent, and re-think his own bodily sacrifice.

    • MARCH 18 Creating Community Join us for a night of crafting and controversial conversation – let’s use art to soothe and orient us in beauty while we learn the importance of engaging in difficult topics with others.

    • MARCH 25 The New Silent Majority Welcome back Nathan Stock who formerly did non-violent conflict resolution in the Middle East for the Carter Center. Hear about his new work to activate pro-Democracy Americans to share their voice and values.

NO Dinner or Journey of Faith on April 1st and 8th – we will begin, again, on April 15th.

Holy Week

Palm Sunday | March 29, 2026
10:30 am in the Sanctuary

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. Our worship will engage Jesus’ hopeful but fraught entry into Jerusalem. We’ll wave palms, sing Hosannas, and immerse ourselves in the story of Jesus’ final days.

Holy Thursday | April 2, 2026
5:45 pm Maundy Thursday Supper in the Narthex
6:30 pm Tenebrae Worship in the Sanctuary

Join us for a Maundy Thursday Supper with a casual Mediterranean meal, hand-washing, and communion as we remember the Last Supper Jesus spent with disciples for Passover (link to RSVP). Then, we'll move into the Sanctuary for a Tenebrae Service (service of shadows) to hear the last words of Christ, shared in dramatic fashion. A few notes | The Tenebrae Service will take the place of Good Friday worship this year. The Maundy Thursday Supper will be family-friendly and a joyful way to remember Jesus' last day with his friends. The worship service will be solemn in tone given the subject matter, but we welcome parents to use their own discretion as to whether their children should stay.
